AJAIB'S GRACE INDIA GROUPS

This Information Letter is for all those who have been granted the rare privilege and grace to travel in the groups to see Sant Sadhu Ram Ji in New Delhi, India and join the meditation programs held in the Remembrance of Beloved Sant Ajaib Singh Ji.

Part 1
Master’s Messages

"My Great Satguru Sant Ajaib Singh Ji used to say that one should consider oneself to be extremely fortunate, if one gets the opportunity to participate in a program of meditation, Satsang, and singing the greatness and glory of the Beloved Satguru anywhere in the world. This opportunity of being together for these few days, in His Divine remembrance, is therefore not only very valuable, but is also God Sent, and should be made full use of.

Let each one of us utilize every single bit of the time available here to our own best advantage, forgetting the world and worldliness. There is all and every hope that seeing our urge and keenness, Satguru Ajaib will have mercy upon us, come to our rescue and help us achieve our objective of progressing in the inner Path. As a brother in faith, my good wishes are there with each one of you, dear ones, for any help, assistance and guidance, which you may need in the matter of meditation. I am your full time and humble sevadar with no wage or esteem whatsoever."

Sadhu Ram

"All of you dear ones are welcome in this program from the depths of my heart. I realize and appreciate the efforts that you have made and the difficulties that you have faced in reaching here, very far from your hearths and homes.

This is the work of my Beloved Satguru, Sant Ajaib Singh Ji Maharaj. I am nothing but a puppet in His Hands and would just do what he bids me to do. As you know he was the manifestation of Sat Purush and had assumed a human body, which is invariably a place of suffering, only for our sake. His Great and Gracious guru, Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj, had told Him lovingly that there were many people who could explain the theory beautifully in flowery words, but having no inner ascent and achievement to their credit, and not having realized God nor even the self, they themselves were in darkness and also led others into the ditch of ignorance. He had therefore advised His Gurumukh Son, beloved Sant Ji, to ensure that this sacred and inner Path of God-Realization-namely, of meditation, sacrifice, and surrender-should always remain open for those sincere and seeking souls who are fed up with the world and worldliness and want to be rid of them so they can meet God.

My merciful Guru, Beloved Sant Ji, also told me forcefully, despite my humble protest: "I have made you do the Simran and Meditation like a brave warrior and have made you My Own Self. Now it is your duty to connect the souls who are dissatisfied with the world, its affairs and attachments and who want to meet God sincerely, by persuading them to extricate themselves gradually from the ever rising sweep of passions and possessions, me and mine, pride and prejudice, and name and fame, and to meditate with the technique in which I have made you perfect. This will enable them to progress inwardly, and traveling up plane by plane, with their own sustained efforts and with the unbounded grace of the Guru, they will reach their eternal home in due course of time."

"Dear ones, I know that most of you are keen and anxious to meet me. May I tell you that I too have a strong and surging desire to meet each one of you for two main reasons: first, to be able to see the spectacle of my Great Guru manifest inside each one of you in various hues and colors, and second, to inquire about your spiritual well being-about which beloved Sant Ji is immensely worried, wishing it to improve sooner rather than later- and to offer my humble assistance and help to those who have any problem whatsoever on this account. In this way our hearts, dry and dreary as they have become, may be refreshed and re-greened with the spiritual water of Satsang, and we may be inspired to take to Simran and meditation with renewed zeal and enthusiasm to register inner progress and development.

Esteemed brothers and sisters, this is the main purpose for which I have traveled such a long distance and come here. I am a poor man and to remain away from my work by which I earn my living is not easy. But it is the grace and kindness of Beloved Sant Ji, which has brought me here amidst all of you, His spiritual children, for the benefit and upliftment of your souls.

So, dear ones, don't hesitate, don't keep thinking. Come with as open a heart as you can, and with as clean and clear a mind as you can make it, and avail yourselves of my sincere and selfless service and seva. I hope that you understand why I am pressing you to come forward with your problems and difficulties about meditation, for if these are removed with my help and seva, then you will be encouraged to devote more time towards Simran and meditation; and the more time you will give, with no hurdles and hardships in between, the more you will progress, and the more will be the pleasure of my Guru. After all, what is the highest thing we all wish for on this Path? The happiness, acceptance and pleasure of Sant Ji. And if we achieve that by doing the meditation, correctly and constantly, then what further remains to be done? Our purpose of life stands fulfilled.

I therefore beg of you, my dear brethren-in-faith, to get your problems in meditation solved and to focus whole heartedly and single-mindedly on meditation. I am always the cleaner of the shoes of the esteemed Sadh Sangat and their full time server and servant, with no wage or esteem whatsoever.

Sadhu Ram

"I would like to welcome all the dear ones who have come here to attend the program, all the parents who have brought their children, I am very pleased to see all of you and once again I welcome you. You know that all of you have come here for the special purpose of doing meditation. You have left your homes and businesses over there, and you have come here for doing meditation. So while you are here you should do as much meditation as possible and remain in the discipline. Because you know that even though we have come here our mind has not left us. Our mind is within us, and it is its duty to check all the souls and to prevent them from doing the meditation. So he will try his level best to keep us away from the meditation. We should be strong and we should always remember the purpose for which we have come here. You know that usually I advise the dear ones that while we have come here for a short period, you should concentrate more on meditation and Simran.

There are many beautiful cities and many bigger cities in your country and you can go for sightseeing and things like that in your country also. So while you are here you should not waste any time for going sightseeing or for shopping, or for doing the worldly things. While you are here you should concentrate on the meditation, the Bhajan and Simran, as much as possible, so that you may benefit from this trip. We have done a lot of shopping in our life, and we have done so many businesses in our life. Now we should do the business for which we have come here and that is the merchandise of Naam, the work of earning the fruit of Naam. We should from the depth of our heart have the yearning to collect the wealth of Naam as much as possible, and for that we should concentrate more on doing the meditation. So I hope that all the dear ones will listen to my request, and you will put in more time in your meditation, and will not waste any time in the useless things."

Satguru Ajaib Singh Ji Maharaj

Part 2
(SRJ-On India Retreats) (Jan. 6, 2007)

On attending Meditation Programs in India conducted under the Grace and Guidance of Sant Sadhu Ram Ji

On the order of the Master, these few instructions regarding attending the India Meditation programs are presented to the respected Sadh Sangat. He requests that we all read carefully and accept before signing up and attending the programs.

1. Those who are prepared to come to the programs in India exclusively for meditation, Darshan, and Satsang, after preparing at home by doing at least four hours daily meditation, are welcome to attend the programs.

One who comes for the program must stay at the program place the entire time and not go out for any reason at all. If anyone feels they must also go out for shopping, touring, the need to bring home gifts for loved ones or items for one’s business, and/or any other worldly matters, then it means that person has not yet understood the rare value and supreme importance of this very holy and precious opportunity. For those who have not yet made their mind understand the correct way to attend the program and who may not yet accept and trust the instructions of the Master regarding the Programs, that is: Staying at the hall for the entire time, doing maximum meditation and Simran, not going out of the place for any reason whatever, remaining in seclusion and not socializing with others; it means they are not yet ready to come and take advantage of the outpouring of Grace being offered, nor to gain the rich benefits of attending a meditation retreat under the Guidance of a Living Master. In such a case, those dear ones do not need to attend the programs and instead may remain at their homes and continue to prepare themselves by doing more and more meditation there. We can do the worldly things like shopping and family things at our homes. Why do we need to spend so much time and money to come to India and take up a valuable place in the group if we are not committed to take the full advantage of this precious opportunity?

2. When we come to the program we are advised to strictly avoid and give up socializing and interactions with others and to remain alone, that is, to maintain a feeling of seclusion. Westerners are advised not to interact or mingle with the Indian dear ones and sevadars, nor exchange addresses and phone numbers with others. If we are ready to come to the program and accept this discipline, to remain in seclusion and keep our heart and mind drenched in the remembrance of the Lord and Simran of the Guru for these few short days, then we are welcome to attend the program. Kirpal Maharaj Ji used to say that seclusion is half of meditation. Sant Ji has said that those who spend their time in seclusion, continually remembering the Lord, have spent that time with the Master.

Sant Ji used to advise the family, relatives, associates, or Satsangii group members of a dear one coming to the programs, that we should have mercy for that dear one and allow them to attend the retreat with giving their whole heart and attention to the Master for these few short days, and not ask them to bring things back home from India for us, nor ask them to remember us, nor phone us, nor to ask the Master about our worldly cares and problems. The dear ones attending the programs should be given our utmost respect during their precious time with the Master, and we should not burden their hearts with anything else than having His darshan and Simran for these few short days. Sant Ji used to say that this is the best contribution or gift we can give to those who are attending the programs.

If any dear one does not yet feel that they can attend the program in this manner then they do not have to come to the Program. We can remain at our homes and do the socializing and interacting with others there.

3. If any dear one wants to attend the program leaving behind the world and its affairs, their fantasies, involvements and attachments with the world for these few program days then you are welcome to attend. We should not come to India and constantly reestablish our contact with others outside by making phone calls to home, checking emails, contacting our associates back home etc. If we come to the program and then spend time going back and forth between the remembrance of the Lord and the love and bondage of world, then what can we hope to gain from attending the meditation retreat in such a manner. We are to give our entire heart and attention to the Master for these few days so that He can purify and uplift our mind and soul, and dye us in the color of Naam. If we are not yet ready to break away from all these attachments and bindings, even for these few days of the program, then why do we need to come to the program, we can instead remain at our homes and fulfill our involvements with family and friends over there.

4. Whatever instructions Master wants to convey to the group who comes for the program will be done either personally by Him, or through the authorized program organizers. If you are prepared to accept and abide by these instructions then you are welcome to attend the program. If anyone however prefers to do what one’s own mind tells him or her to do, or that which some other dear ones may tell us, then it means we have not yet properly prepared ourselves to attend the program and get the advantage. In that case, we do not need to attend the program but instead, we may stay at our homes and do more meditation and preparation before coming to the program.

5. If any dear one comes to the program and then violates the instructions of the Master for attending the retreats, e.g. goes out for shopping or for any other reason whatever, socializes with the other sangat, establishes contacts with home through calls and emails, etc. disturbs the other dear ones who came for meditation and seclusion, or wastes their time and the precious opportunity, then that dear one may not be allowed to attend the India programs in the future. Every dear one should realize that whatever we are doing at the program has an effect upon the other dear ones and it is our duty to use this precious time to our own advantage as well as insure we do not disturb others who are doing the same.

Everyone should keep the rooms clean, orderly and quiet so that those who may be resting or meditating may not feel upset due to excessive noise, disturbance, and activity.

6. Before coming to any program we should spend a lot of time preparing by doing more meditation and Simran, and by planning the trip carefully. We should bring along everything we will need for our care and comfort, such as medicines, proper clothing for the season, sweaters or warm clothes, shawls and shoes, bhajan books etc. We should sign up with the organizers early and not leave the arrangements of tickets, passports and visas until the last minute. We should send our names for sign up at least two months before the program and complete all our arrangements at least one month before the start of the program, including informing the organizers of our flight details. By doing this we are doing our part to help the sevadars in India insure that everything is properly arranged to receive such a large group of foreigners to their country. If we are too busy with our other things of life and have no time to give first preference to this most important work, then it means we are not yet ready to attend the program. In that case, one should first work hard to make the mind understand the extremely high value of this precious opportunity. Once we have understood and are prepared to devote the time and attention required to take maximum advantage, and prepare everything well in advance, then we can send our names to the organizers for a place in the program and we will be welcome to attend.

7. If we need anything during the program that we have forgotten such as medicine or a blanket, or some small items because our luggage was lost, then we can inform the sevadars and they will go out and bring that thing for you. No one should go out for these things themselves. We should request from the sevadars only that thing which we have forgotten or which we really need during the program, and not give them long lists of things to take back to our homes.

Along with this, the Master has said that in some special cases, if any dear one finds it really necessary to be present at the shops when an item is being brought for them, then they can go along with one or two Indian sevadars on the last day of the stay, after the program, and obtain that item, and then return back promptly to the program place. No one should go out on their own, they must be accompanied by Indian sevadars, and must not think of this as a shopping spree, but as a short trip to obtain a necessary item.

8. Sant Ji used to say that if we come to a meditation program after gaining some receptivity, if we make our mind understand the supreme importance of these precious moments spent in the company of a Saint, then these days can change our life and can become the most remarkable days of our life. He said that it is very important for the dear ones to attend the program after working very hard at their home and gaining some receptivity.

Sant Ji also said that if we give up the darshan of the Master for any other thing, we lose a lot. Only the Mahatma who does meditation realizes how much we lose because only He has gone within and seen how high, how important, and holy is the darshan of the Master. Kirpal Maharaj Ji used to say that if we can spend even a few moments in the company of a Perfect Saint, we get more benefit than from doing 100 years of meditation at our homes. He said, “what more concession can you dear ones wish for than this.”

Sant Ji also says that if we go out for shopping or for doing any other worldly things during this Holy Program, we may lose the entire benefit of the time we have spent in the company of a Saint.

Finally, let us all bow down millions of times at the holy lotus Feet of Satguru Ajaib, and thank Him many millions of times for the Priceless opportunity He is affording us. Let us each one, with a sincere heart and burning desire to meet Him within, press on with our Simran and meditations and do the proper and respectful preparation and attendance at these Meditation Programs, so that we may honor and please our beloved Satguru.

New Delhi Meditation Retreat:
Foreigners Information & Behavior

RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR
We are guests in a foreign country and are expected to maintain the utmost of decorum, respectful behavior, discipline and courtesy towards others during the entire visit. Within our own compound and dorms we are expected to be considerate, polite and loving towards every other guest at the program and to consider what effect our behavior and actions may have on the other visitors to India; as most if not all have come on this holy pilgrimage after waiting, saving and yearning for a long time. We should not do anything that may distract or disturb others from taking the maximum advantage of their precious time with the Master.

MAINTAINING A ‘QUIETING’ ATMOSPHERE:
Coming to the physical presence of the Master is a rare boon of unimaginable importance in the life of a disciple. Whereas we have been granted this valuable time away from our usual obligations, let us take full advantage of the conducive Ashram-like atmosphere and the Master’s Holy Presence by keeping talk with other dear ones to a minimum in our rooms, during meals and after Darshans. Calming our own speech and behavior not only helps our meditation, but also insures that we do not inadvertently disturb the Simran of others.

PARSHAD:
All the Dear Sangat are strongly urged to bring along whatever foodstuffs they would like to ask Master to bless as parshad, for bringing back home and for their own use. Please bring it along with you rather than going out shopping to buy it yourself or asking dear ones in India to go out and buy it for you. Parshad is Grace from the Master and we should accept it in whatever form it is offered to us at the program. Bringing some items from home allows us to take back the extra that so many dear ones cherish.

Masters say that if we need to increase the quantity of parshad so as to have enough for everyone at the Satsang or family, then we can add some extra items like nuts, candies or cereals and that will also become parshad for the dear ones waiting at home who have the yearning for parshad from India Programs.

TRAVELLING IN INDIA WITH THE MASTER
It is a very special grace to travel in India with the Master. If you are in a group that also goes on an extra trip somewhere in India for Satsang, please show the foremost of courtesy and modesty during the travel. Every moment of the trip should be full of Simran, respectful composure, and disciplined behavior. We are asked to avoid crowding around the Master at airports, train or bus stations etc. and not to make shows of affection and devotion while in public. It is the duty of everyone traveling with Him to allow Him to pass through the public places unnoticed and comfortably.

GIFTS AND SOCIALIZING
Master has strongly advised that foreigners are not to interact nor socialize with the Indian Sangat. Please also do not bring, offer or exchange any gifts with them, nor ask for each other’s phone and address.

PARK
There is a lovely park in front of the Satsang hall. It is OK to walk around a few times for fresh air and exercise, and then go back inside, but no one should sit in the park nor pick any of the flowers or plants. If we want to sit around outdoors, please go on the rooftop of our building.

SHOPPING & ERRANDS
We are expected to understand, appreciate, and remember that we have traveled this very long distance for earning the priceless wealth of Naam, and all of our time and energy is to be used wisely in this most precious purpose, and for no other. Shopping and wandering around is to be done at our homes before or after coming to the program in India and not in any way at the program. Maharaj Kirpal Singh Ji used to say that if we could remain in the remembrance of God for three days continuously, then He would definitely remove our veil and gives us His Darshan. This is the purpose for which this Holy program is being held.

Everyone attending the program is expected and trusted to bring everything along that you will need for the program stay and not to plan on buying the things once in India. Please take special care to pack the cosmetics, supplements, toiletries and incidentals you require rather than request their purchase during the program. We can however request a really crucial item like medicine or in the case luggage is lost, and nothing else. Please do not ask for large quantities of items to take back home. This is not considered respectful and also can overwhelm the sevadars who have to keep going out repeatedly for so many items. Please ask for what you really need at the program and nothing more. We should not burden others and ourselves with shopping for unnecessary bundles of goods to take home. Just the things that will allow you to feel good and healthy during the program

DRESS CODE
Dress during the programs in India should be respectful and modest, as fits the cultural and spiritual traditions of India and our hosts. Clothes should be loose fitting for comfort during meditation, and also should cover the body properly. Revealing clothes, low necklines, shorts, sleeveless tops, swimwear or bathing suits etc. are not appropriate.
Ladies are requested to have head coverings, scarf or shawl in the presence of Master during Satsangs.

SATSANG HALL
Please do not leave anything in the Satsang Hall. Take all your belongings with you to your room after the evening program. The organizers have humbly instructed that we not leave our things to save a place for the entire program but allow everyone an opportunity to sit in front. Taking our things out of the hall in the evening also facilitates cleaning of the hall.

Please maintain silence and Simran in the Satsang Hall at all times and especially right after the Master departs from Satsangs and Meditations.

Please allow everyone an opportunity to sing bhajans during the bhajan sessions, and let others, even those who are more reserved, have the happiness of starting a bhajan. When Master is leaving the hall after Satsang, there should be silence only, no bhajan singing.

Ladies are to sit on one side and gents on the other side of the Satsang Hall. Young children who need to may sit with their parents. Please observe the dividing line.

Tall dear ones or those who must sit on chairs and cushions should locate themselves in a way that they may not block the view of others, sitting without cushions, behind them. Out of courtesy, kindly sit to the sides or toward the back. Those with cameras and video equipment should set it up at place where it does not block the view of sangat.

INFORMATION

LANGAR
Master has instructed all the sevadars to attend the programs of meditation and Satsang, and not to miss out to do seva. A seva schedule was made to allow this to happen. It means the langar will be served approximately ½ hour after meditation or Satsang programs. Please come to the meal on time once the bell is rung, and finish eating promptly so clean up can be facilitated.

SPECIAL DIET
If you are one allergic to dairy or wheat, please inform us in advance and every effort will be made to provide you something suitable for your diet. Please do not hesitate to inform the organizers of your special needs so that you feel comfortable and well during the retreat. It is the full responsibility of each person to check the food carefully and insure that it meets the safety requirements of your special diet. The sevadars will always try their best to meet the special needs, but each person must take responsibility to check carefully for their own situation.

SEVA
Westerners can assist with seva during the program, mainly in the langar. Jobs include:

…Serving
…Dishwashing & Cleanup
…Special Diet Needs
…Room and bathroom cleaning

Please sign up on the seva lists if you wish to participate.

INTERVIEWS & DARSHANS
Depending on the size of the group, interviews or group darshans will be arranged and announced. Please attend only one interview or darshan. No one should ask worldly questions. Only brief questions about meditation or Simran should be asked.

ROOMS
Cleanliness of rooms is very important to our maintaining good health during the program. Please keep your rooms clean and tidy. You may get together with others in your room and designate someone to be responsible to sweep up floors and clean bathrooms. Please do not leave food or drink in your rooms. Kitchen areas for preparing your own snack or tea are to be kept clean and tidy at all times.
There are lockers wherein you may lock up your valuables. Several people sharing a room can also share a locker and designate one person to keep the key.

SECURITY
Only the westerners staying at the program hall and few authorized sevadars from India are allowed in the dorm areas. If you see anyone else or any suspicious activity please report to the organizers immediately.

BATHROOMS
Please note that there are complete and spacious bathrooms on the roof. If you sleep in the large central dorm space, please use the roof bathrooms whenever possible, rather than passing through the smaller sleeping rooms where dear ones may be resting.

WATER
Safe drinking water is provided in the langar and Dorm kitchens. Please use it for drinking and brushing teeth. Tap water is neither safe to drink nor advised for brushing teeth.

WATER TAPS
Running water in Delhi sometimes stops flowing. If you go to a shower or sink and no water comes out, please be sure to close that tap, so that when the city water flows again it will not come gushing out of that tap and flood the room.

MOSQUITO
In the April, May, and June Programs, mosquito netting and repellent may be useful. We are staying in an area of low risk for malaria, however in these months, some malaria prevention is advised as a precaution. Homeopathic is known to be effective and is mild and gentle with no known side effects. Other preventions are also effective but can be harsh and have strong side effects. Please consult your health care practitioner.

PREPARATION & TRAVEL

PASSPORT & VISA
Everyone entering India will need a valid passport issued by your own country of citizenship, and a visa issued by India. You will also need these to board the flight and transit through countries during the journey to India. Once you have a passport, you can obtain a visa required for entering India, from the Embassy of India in your country.

HEALTH CARE SUGGESTIONS
1. Do Constant Simran: Simran is the best remedy for all ills of the body and mind.
2. Follow the Schedule and get enough rest.
3. Wash hands after using Latrines and before meals.
4. Eat Lightly: Overeating causes great stress to the body, especially when traveling and in unfamiliar environments.

6. Please do not go to the shops and Market Places. Whatever you may bring back from there can disturb yourself and the other people.

Sant Sadhu Ram Ji
New Delhi India Retreat Programs

Most Esteemed and Beloved Sadh Sangat of the Great Masters

Under the Divine Will and Order of Our Beloved Satguru Sant Ajaib Singh Ji Maharaj, Sant Sadhu Ram Ji has agreed to hold Meditation and Satsang Retreats in New Delhi India for the benefit of the Sangat in 2007.

The retreats are held in the divine remembrance of Sant Ji and accommodations have been made to welcome groups from countries all around the world.

The Master has asked that all participants please notice and abide by the following guidelines:

…………Sant Sadhu Ram Ji has asked all the dear ones wishing to participate in the retreats in India, to devote at least 4 hours per day (at their home) in meditation before coming to the programs, and from then onwards, which will provide a great boost in gaining receptivity, as was the lifelong wish of Sant Ji. He said that this is a very good time and opportunity for us to be able to receive the benefit and grace which the Masters wish to give us.

………..The program is being held for Meditation, Darshan and Satsang. Those who attend the retreats must agree to come exclusively for the meditation program, follow the schedule, and not plan any other activity, visits, travels, shopping, sight-seeing or other affairs during this Holy trip; and that all participants will remain at the program place for the entire time and follow the schedule of Satsang, Darshan and Meditation.

……….Everyone should travel to and from India in groups with others from their area as far as possible, and according to the exact prescribed travel dates. Travel to India for the retreats should be on one’s own earnings.

……… Regional Coordinators for groups, and individuals should provide the names and flights details to Daryl Rubin no later than 3 weeks prior to departure, so that adequate arrangements can be made to receive and accommodate all guests. Please check carefully that the flight details you send are completely accurate so you will be met properly at the airport.

………..Please bring with you everything you will need during the program as there will be no chance to go out for shopping. Each traveler should try to bring only one piece of luggage and one carry on as room space is limited. Blankets, sheets, pillows and meditation cushions need not be brought along as these will be provided

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR A PROGRAM
